Blacks and Latinos are the originators of a now viral culture that has been influencing mainstream dance, hip-hop , fashion, music, other cultures and much more! Ballroom has a dark past, but out of hardships, discrimination , violence, sacrifice and perseverance, we are able to slay today in ways past ballroom mothers, fathers and children could not. When we weren’t accepted elsewhere, we created a safe space where we could be authentically ourselves. It’s important to remember to celebrate each other and support one another! Wether you are black , Hispanic, Latino, mixed , etc…. Let’s fill the room and carry in the name of the ancestors! All are welcomed !
